Elton Commemorates Record Store Day 2019 With Moscow 1979 Double LP

This year’s Record Store Day takes place on April 13, 2019.

2019 is the 40th anniversary of Elton’s historic first tour of Russia. He was the first Western rock star of his stature to ever perform in the Communist country.

The show in Moscow on May 28, 1979 also features Ray Cooper and was broadcast on BBC radio in the UK.

This limited-edition, special 2LP release for Record Store Day 2019 is taken from the original broadcast masters and has never been issued on vinyl before.

It was remastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering and cut at the famous Abbey Road studios in London.
