Tumbleweed Connection

For this third album, Elton and lyricist Bernie Taupin created a concept album about the American West, written and recorded before the songwriting pair ever visited the US. Without the benefit of a single on either side of the Atlantic, the LP rose to the No. 2 position on the UK Albums Chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200.
