Elton’s eighth studio album was mostly recorded in a mere nine days in Colorado. It reached No. 1 in just its second week on the Billboard Top 200 chart, on which it appeared for 54 weeks. It also spent its first two weeks atop the UK Albums Chart and 6 weeks in the Top 10. Its two singles, the classic ballad Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me and the raucous The Bitch Is Back, both ranked within the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
