Elton's Grammy weekend

Share

On Friday Elton was among a host of stars paying tribute to Bruce Sprinsgteen as he was awarded the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year, in celebration of his exceptional artistic achievements as well as his philanthropic work. MusiCares Person of the Year tribute is one of the most prestigious events held during GRAMMY Week, and Elton's contribution to this amazing concert was a solo performance of Streets of Philadelphia. You can read more about the event here at Billboard.com.

Tonight, Sunday, Elton will attend the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards  and, as already announced, he will duet with Ed Sheeran in a performance of The A Team, which has been nominated for Song Of The Year at the Grammys. It has also just been revealed that Elton and other artists including Ed Sheeran and Mumford & Sons will perform The Band's classic song The Weight in memory of the late Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist in The Band and an artist who has long been cited by both Elton and Bernie Taupin as one of their musical heroes.
