Elton will be performing at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) Annual Hot Pink Party Fundraiser on Monday, April 28, at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City.
Elton has been a part of this annual charity event since its inauguration in 2001 and in past years has treated the attendees to solo renditions of hits (including Rocket Man, Philadelphia Freedom and Crocodile Rock) and deep cuts (Skyline Pigeon, The Greatest Discovery, Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters and others).
This year’s bawdy, beautiful French CanCan-inspired affair, designed by Town & Country’s “event planner of the year” Brian Rafanelli. will pay special tribute to Cindy Citrone and will also feature a performance by five-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles (who recently released a mesmerizing live version of Elton’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road).
To date, BCRF has raised over $480 million to advance the most promising breast cancer research worldwide. Last year the Hot Pink Party generated over $5 million in donations.
